Take fishing line or sturdy twine (some have used floss, but that was too thin for me) and work it behind the badge. Hold the fishing line with two hands (one hand on each side of the badge; top and bottom) and begin slowly and carefully using the fishing line to separate the badge from the body. The badges are held on by a gray putty material. I went slow with a bit of a sawing motion and very little putty residue was left. That came off with goo be gone. I used a bit of polish and wax to finish it off.
Good luck.
