I think a hybrid would be ideal for a city-driver delivery or fleet vehicle- a good replacement for the V6 in a Tundra. But I think it will depreciate more due to percieved battery replacement costs. A diesel would be a good hauler- tower choice, but then the numbers wars heat up again as manufacturers start claiming higher and higher capacities. The problem with this is 1/2 ton trucks aren't designed to do the work of 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. Some crackpot will assuredly hook a 15,000# trailer to a 5000# truck because his engine will move it, but it's definitely unsafe.
