I don't have the steering wheel controls so I can't help too much with that.

As far as the head unit, I think it's great. The nav is wonderful to have. If I am going anywhere I am not too sure of the location, I just find the address and punch it in. When I went down to South Texas to meet up with rarjar, it was great to have on the country highways. I did the split map screen where one screen was zoomed in and the other was zoomed out a little. I could see what the road did ahead (curve, straight, twist, whatever) before I ever got to it. So I knew ahead of time if I needed to slow down or if I could open her up a bit. The music on the hard drive is a nice feature too. It records the CDs the first time you play them and then you never have to insert the CD in again, it's already on the hard drive. I did that and I burned a bunch of MP3s on a disc (100 songs or so) so it will read right off the disc and doesn't need the hard drive space for everything. Two big thumbs up on this head unit.

The only part I didn't like is that it only records the CDs as you listen to them. You can't just insert the CD and let it copy all at once or while you listen to the radio. So it takes a lot of driving to get the time to burn a bunch of discs. I'm thinking I might connect the charger to the battery and just let it copy for a few hours and a few discs each night while parked in the garage.
