The whole thing is stiff except for the rubber hose diameter reducer at the throttle body.
It is all rubber and there is room for flex. Not near as much as the stock intake though. I wondered myself why they didn't just make the box and then attach to the factory tube where the stock box does. Then there would be no need to extend the hoses or lift the cover or any of that stuff.
