Help___Horn doesn't Work!!!!!!!!

Today I got my new horn through the mail and decided to put it on. I read the directions and it says you can wire it up to replace your factory horn. It is a small air compressor with tubes going to 2 Horns. I took the factory horns off and replaced them with the new ones. I cut the right horns wiring harness and it revealed 2 wires. (one which loops and leads to the 2nd horn on the left...like a circuit.) Since the Air compressor has a positive and negative I put the 2 lines on the positive (was going to keep one factory horn) and took my negative to the negative side of the battery. OK.... I told the wife to give it a little push and it sounded about a 1/16th of a second and quit...after that nothing. I checked the fuse labled HORN and it was fine. I took everything apart and replaced my factory horns, plugged the wiring harnesses back up and told my wife to push the horn while I held the wires together. No matter which way I held them nothing happened. If anybody has any suggestions please post them...

Thanks a lot!! Black (no horn) Tundra84
