How to resize pictures in Windows

The question of how to resize pictures has come up a few times and there are several different ways to do it. I thought I would find an easy way to do it that everyone could use. So here is what I found.

This part is for Windows XP only, all others scroll down.
Go to the following Windows web page:
Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP

On the far right side, there are a bunch of download links. Click on the one for the image resizer. Or just click the link in the quote below:

Image Resizer
521 KB 2 min @ 28.8 Kbps

For all others not using XP, download a clone of the program from the following site:
SourceForge.net: Image Resizer PowerToy Clone for Windows

It claims to work for all other Windows including Vista. It also works for XP, but some people might want the original Microsoft version rather than a clone from an outside source.

Install the program when it is done.

Now, find the picture on your computer that you want to resize. Right click on the picture icon and go to 'Resize Pictures'. Click the Medium (800x600) option and click 'OK'. You will still have the original picture on your computer and there will be a new picture with the same name followed by "(Medium)". This is your resized picture that you can upload to your post.

If the above was hard to understand, you can use Microsoft's description:
Resize digital pictures quickly
