are cai and headers worth it?

I have 50,000mi on my 06 tundra i-force 4.7L 4x4 xsp and looking to do something with it. Been torn between cold air intake or just putting a k&n in stock compartment???... and if it's worth it installing some headers too. curious about performance, sound, and problems with this combination (to much air flow for computer)???

I'm sure you would see some improvement in performance, but I was always told you get the most bang for you buck with a complete package...intake, headers, and exhaust. There are a lot more people on here with more knowledge than me though. I'm sure they will chime in.

I tend to agree that the ideal is a complete systems approach...intake, headers, exhaust and engine control. The 06 seems to have had better results with Unichip than many have with 07s and later.

I only have the cold air intake and it has made a huge difference. And it sounds real mean! Im putting on a banks exhaust system next and then will be doing headers last.(mostly because of cost) Cold air is the way to go, instead of the K&N filter box thing.
