Squid I'm gonna have to learn this site a bit yet but if it will help I'll get some info out as I know this helps with tracking concerns and issues on the trucks as we go along and they age and issues arise. Mine is March 07 5.7 Tundra Dbcab SR-5 4WD.@ this time 12k on it. The concerns I have are going up for debate 12/17/08 as I head out for an issue with remote start and some very interesting rotors that will say just warm them up a little bit and the rear-end is got some shake. If I go down a long hill the fronts will follow quickly to start vibrating also (I'm in Ct "I hate it here" I also am ASE MTech certified 25 plus years tech. Not with Toy for about 15 years now so I have to go several towns west to get my old buddys info on the heads up with the trucks issues till I found what I wish I could say about the public I have had to deal with over the years. You guys "and girls here" Try / ask and professionaly learn in your guys link I really "stumbled on". I want to say first off classy site / nice Q / A and follow up and these forums also help us in the industry because weather even us mechanics like it or not we can also "trend" or get an idea on whats up around the country. I give ya one I ran into personaly with mine. The brackets were rusting and the truck only had 6k on it and its washed every week (Squid in all honesty this truck does sit as I carpool with a buddy and I love my bike on the good days so savin my baby for the sunny days is alright with me) Ahhhh also theres that 4 something a gallon little while back too though (right after I bought the truck too). Anyways the brackets were something that Toy never thought of as an impending issue and were little taken back as what to do (note here; Trucks were at the time flying off the lots and my little bracket issue wasn't going to bother them...plus this is where a "tech" won't get respect like the general public as we "see" what Joe public won't for several years) What I did

these are the SS tube chrome running boards that they put steel brackets to mount???) I glass beaded (just brackets)them and then sent them to my buddy and had them jetted with the Line-X that my beds jetted in. Man that stuff is tuff!! Toy rep was blown away but they can neither back it suggest it or implament it as this would be seen as acknowledgement of an issue (I know the deal) but if this will help some other people in the forum great. It only costed me $40.00 and about 2.5hrs of my personel time.I'll get back to ya's on this rotor issue but I'm getting TSB's etc monday morning in anticipation for Weds "confrontation" My remote start you have to be within 25ft for it to "pickup" I can't wait to hear the line they try and give me. Last dealer which I just walked out of several months back (same time issue running boards) they said that the FCC guidlines on the equipment made it "suseptible to interferance as it cannot interfere with other frequencys". Squid it was embarassing as I was caught off gaurd as I didn't have my boots on and was blindsided with Bull!@#$. Then I caught myself and showed them my certs and they quickly changed there story; told them few choice words and frankly don't want them near my truck. This time layin everything on the table up front and making things real CLEAR. Thanks again Squid for getting me all straightened out finaly was able to get in and hopefully I can learn my way around the site and not be bothering you everytime! Take care bud!
