Bench Preparation

Knowing the location of the alarm components within the vehicle prior to installation allows you to pre-solder some of the connections that otherwise would have to be soldered inside the vehicle.
Note: Approximately ~30 of the ~70 solder connections can be done on the bench.

Print out the Viper 5701.xlsx spreadsheet attached to first post and use it as a guide for determining which components are soldered at the bench and which are solder inside the vehicle.

I mounted the alarm/remote start unit in the center console directly beneath the dash. Two looms were created, one that goes to the right and the other to the left.
  • Right Loom (passenger side): right front door window, horn, hood switch and XK05 engine immobilizer bypass wires
  • Left Loom (driver's side): left front door window and all remaining wires
I solder the power and chassis ground connections for all of the components to user supplied #10 wire, one wire for the chassis ground and one for power. This made the connection in the vehicle very easy, just one connection for each.

Label the end of the wires so you can easily identify them when you make the final connections in the vehicle, then tape the looms. I just taped the Automatic Headlight Reset and Dome Supervision relays to the loom.
