Component Installation - Cabin Area- CAUTION: Disconnect the negative side of your truck’s battery before making any electrical connections on the vehicle.
The following components are installed next to the Viper 5701 main unit under the center console. Sorry, I did not get any pictures.
- 506T Audio Sensor
- 507M Digital Tilt Sensor
- 520T Battery Backup
- 530T Window Controller
The XK05 engine immobilizer bypass is mounted behind the passenger kick panel here.
Note: You will need to program the XK05 to your key, the procedure can be found in the programming section below.
I installed the 506T microphone and remote start enable toggle switch in the power adapter section of the dash. I drilled a 15/32 inch hole above the power outlet on the right side for the microphone and an 11/32 inch hole above the cigarette lighter on the left side for the remote start disable toggle switch.
Install the antenna with integrated LED and Valet switch at the top of the windshield next to the rearview mirror. Tuck the cable under the headliner at the top of the windshield towards the A-pillar on the driver’s side. Remove the A-pillar cover and make sure to run the wire behind the side curtain airbag (windshield side). Now route the cable under the dash into the center console area for connection to the Viper 5701 unit.
Mount the Viper 5701 and associated components (with looms attached) directly under the center console on top of the transmission tunnel. Route the looms up from the center console under the dash in their respective directions, right loom to the passenger side, left loom to the driver’s side.
Pull the 4 wires controlling the driver’s window through the duct that connects the driver’s door to the truck. I used a clothes hanger and pushed it through the duct from the door side and taped the 4 wires to the end and pulled them back through. Repeat this for the passenger side door. Note: This takes some patience and persistence as the duct is pretty full already. I did not get pictures of the door during installation but here are some from Tox's install, they both connect at the same points. Thanks Tox!
Now with both looms in place you can start making the vehicle solder connections. Use the
Viper 5701.xlsx spreadsheet attached to the first post for determining wire connection points. Start with the main chassis ground and power then proceed through all of the rest of the connections. For connections that are wired in parallel, strip the insulation from the factory vehicle wire then wrapped the remote start wire around it, soldered and tape. For connections that wire in series, cut the factory vehicle wire into, strip both ends, and soldered the remote start wires to them and tape.
