Well I just got back from got back from another 0-100mph run. Haven't had a chance to process it yet but I think it turned out a tad faster than last time. the temps dropped about 6 degrees and I left the a/c off. I'll post the results later, thinking bout going to the gym first...

Why? An intake is an intake. You can hardly deliniate between two. Sure the HP claims maybe different, but the reality is they are both going to flow air better than stock, but the difference will be negligible versus each other. Each intake system has a higher flow filter, a shorter, smoother intake tube, and the same basic design, so why would one perform better than another?

I lost some off-the-line punch with the Airaid too, the only reason I'm switching to the Volant is because it is quieter (or at least I'm hoping) than the Airaid.

That being said, I'm looking forward to the Volant. I had one on my '05 4Runner V8 and it was a very nice system.

Simply because Ive heard more bad things about the Volant. The only issue ive seen about the AFE was it didnt line up correctly w/ the maf holes, but that was fixed fairly quickly. Volant problems range from appearing cheaply built (not my words, I think they look nice), the intake tube not lining up with the hole in the fender, not being able to put the engine cover back down all the way in the front and to top it off, unless you happen to chance on a group buy, its at least $40 more than the AFE oiled, $60 more than the dry AFE.

Having that said, other than fitment/fit/finish differences, Im sure theres not a 3hp difference between the 2. Capitalism is a great thing.

Well just finished running over the video frame by frame, temps dropped about 6 degrees and and a/c was off as stated earlier. 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds so it appears I lost just a tenth on the low end. 0-100mph in 14.4 seconds which is 3 tenths quicker than stock, so I did gain some top end. I don't know what happened on my previous run but I like these results much much better. I feel a little better about my purchase now, I'm hoping in combo with the JBA exhaust I gain a couple more tenths.

oh btw, I forgot to mention the install for the volant took me an hour and a half. Either I'm retarded or they didn't give very good directions.....coin toss either way

Just to let you know, I posted your vid on another GM site, and it was the darndest thing, all the sudden all the formerly big mouths of "oh they arent that fast", "I beat one last week" seemed to be left just hanging open, and no one had anything to say. Sometimes silence speaks volumes, it was great.

lol, it's great. I've noticed most places I post that video you have a few people that complement it and then it just kinda sits there, they get the point

btw, after looking over the video again, it's so close on the 0-60 time it's hard to tell. I may have not lost any time there, it's so hard to tell damn it!

Yeah I did the battery thing, wish I wouldn't have now. Me and the truck were just beginning to get close and then I go and wipe her memory clean
Looking forward to brighter days

Fair enough. For some reason I forgot about the fitment issue, which is a large part of this thread. Hopefully mine fits OK. And, yes, capitalism is a great thing...
