| Good for you, I live by these things and because of Black Stone labs I now run my 5.6L 13,000 miles between oil changes with Mobil 1 15,000 mile extended. (110,000 miles so far) I went ahead and started a forum for these since I feel they are very important for deciding what oils the engines like. I see you're running Mobil 1, which one?

| I run Amsoil 5-20 7.5k mile interval synthetic (cost more than dino oil, but less than the 25k mile interval stuff). I change it at 6 month intervals which is between 5-6k miles for me. I use Oil Analyzers: Oil Analyzers, Inc. - Oil Analysis, Oil Testing Services I think prepaid kits are about $22. Here is some info on Blackstone (which is the company mentioned above): "Blackstone's standard analysis will tell you what you need to know about the condition of your engine and how it's wearing. The standard analysis costs $22.50 and includes the following: Spectral Exam: Establishes the levels of wear metals, silicon, and additives present in the oil. Also checks for coolant. Viscosity: Determines the grade of oil. Insolubles: Quantifies the percentage of solids present in the oil. Flash Point: Determines the flash point of the oil. We use the flash point to determine whether any contamination is present in the oil (determined when the flash is lower than the "should be" range)." Blackstone Laboratories - Standard Analysis
