With the regulator, if you follow the picture of mine located here

You have the red tapped into your 12v power and the black grounded(doesn't matter where as long as it's grounded)... the single red wire at the other end, needs to go to your camera's power(regulated power)... and if you read through some of Toxarch's replies to my post, you'll see that you have to ground that white wire... It took a bit for my thick head to realize this...
