So I got a one time only super sweet deal on the Tekonsha P3 that I couldn't pass up. Used the harness that came with it and Toyota's harness that came with the truck. Easy to make the harness and the wiring provided is MORE than long enough for this install or just about any install within reach of the driver. I had seen some pictures of the Prodigy and the P3 installed below the A/C controls and decided that would be the best place for me. I found the install below the dash to be too awkward to reach in a hurry. This install looks pretty clean and is easy to reach and leaves room for the manual override. I was going to use the bracket that came with the controller but the holes weren't lined up, I was going to have to cut it shorter, and I was going to have a heck of a time getting it all mounted up in there. So instead, I got some 2" wide sticky backed "industrial" velcro and used that to hold it in place. It does a really good job holding it in place and it's a bit of work to get the thing out of there now, which is a good thing. I cut a square hole in the back for the wiring.

Here's some pics to keep the masses happy:

Looks a little crooked in the last pic.

When you wire up your own harness, it never mentions to add a ground wire to the truck's ground in the instructions. But if you buy Tekonsha's premade harness, they have a ground wire added to the harness. So I called them up and asked the tech guy if I needed one. He said that Toyota's wiring for their ground doesn't meet their specs required for the ground wire. So that is why they add a ground wire to their harness. I can run it without the extra ground and I could be fine, but they recommend adding one. There's a factory ground behind the kick panel right by the plug so I added one anyway. I ran the ground from the soldered connection between the Tekonsha and Toyota harnesses.
