Hadn't seen this thread before. If I had I would have suggested a unibit for the drilling. They are pretty expensive but last quite a while. They use them all the time on chrome and painted parts (Orange County Choppers etc). Since hole saws have actual teeth they would tend to rip the electroplated chrome I would think.
