No problem with asking. The wires are pretty small and I have both the radar detector and the Homelink mirror (added later) powered by those wires. Has not blown a fuse yet. If you look at the wires behind the cigarette lighter and power point, they aren't much larger. Worst thing that happens is you blow a stock fuse and have to rewire the radar detector to a different location.
