OK, a report on the install of the AVIC Z-2 leaving the overhead monitor "on" and tying into the driver's A pillar camera wires. Originally, I left everything alone in the upper console, and the HU reverse function worked fine, but the "rear view" map option in the HU while going forward did not. I tried tying the light blue Homelink mirror wire into the dark blue isolated overhead monitor side and got a pic on the "rear view" going forward, but no pic on the HU when in reverse. So, I figured that the entire driver's A pillar camera wires depend on the overhead monitor and it must be fully functional. Installed the microswitch mod and walla, reverse image on the HU and if you flip the monitor down, the HU switches to full screen rear view while going forward. What I can't get to work is the HU "rear view" setting with the smaller GPS map to the right. What am I doing wrong?
