So if you are driving forward, with a map on the NAV unit, and you flip down the monitor, does the NAV switch to the reverse view on its own? If so then that means something isn't right. That would mean it's getting a reverse signal from the monitor. You could solve that by putting a diode on the monitor's reverse wire.

Out of curiosity, when you flip down the monitor, do the reverse lights come on? Wonder if that's the reason for the code.
