Took my son down south this past weekend to spend the night on the USS Lexington (Corpus Christi Bay).

Home - USS LEXINGTON Museum On The Bay

On the way down a Valero station in Victoria had 87 octane for $3.80/gal and on the way back up a couple of days later the same station dropped a dime to $3.70/gal. You can bet I topped off both times!

Sky,

The difference in gasoline and diesel is more pronounced here - around $ 0.75 per gal.

The price of gas here is 3.98 for 87 and 4.04 for the 89. I have always gone with the 89. And always from chevron. I use 89 cause I think my truck runs better, and cleaner. I dont know though maybe I just buy into the techron thing to much.. what do you all think?

On my vacation last week I bought 87 octane at a Shell in Henryetta, OK for $3.49/gal and also found the same price at the QT station in Bartlesville, OK.

Here's an idea. How about since we are a huge exporter of wheat, we charge the exact same amout per bushell of wheat as what a barrell of oil costs us. I am by far not an authority on economics. I'm ahead of the game if my checkbook is balanced to the penny, but it seems to me that we need oil and the world needs to eat, so I think it's a fair exchange.

Love the idea. Then we need to start speculating the how the weather will cause flooding of the farmlands and how storms in the Gulf will keep shipments from leaving etc.....I think you're on to something.
