TTZ Rules and Code of Conduct

My how time flies! We are now 2 years old and just shy of having 8000 people register on the site.

Unfortunately with growth also comes problems and as much as I hate rules there will always be those that need them in order to coexist with the rest of us which makes these rules subject to change at any time and can be found here http://www.toyotatundraforum.com/rules.php and are also seen at registration. I will also be putting a link in the Quick Link dropdown on the Nav Bar and a link in everyones UserCP.

So for the 1% that needs them here they are and as always feel free to give us your thoughts.

Welcome to TundraTruckz.com
Once you become a member, you are free to post, ask questions and take advantage of the many other benefits of this site. We simply request that you follow the following rules and posting guidelines.
  • TTZ is well-known for being the most member-friendly forum around. Its owner expects, and through his moderators, will ensure that the atmosphere here stays that way and that all members treat each other with respect and courtesy. The administration has a low tolerance of personal attacks, flaming or bashing another member.
  • The site owner and the moderators are committed to putting members first, even before income from sponsors, however, this site is not a democracy and the administration has the final say. Having said that, the site owner and moderators understand that site excellence comes only with member input and as such, the site administration is committed to accept, and consider reasonable member challenges to the actions and decisions of both its site owner and moderators.
  • While we are all adults, profanity should be minimized and the use of strong profanity may result in that member being banned (either temporarily or permanently).
  • Since many members read TTZ posts at work, or at home where children may be looking over their shoulder, “R” rated posts or pictures should ONLY be posted in the “NSFW" (Enter at own Risk) Off-Topic” forum. Threads with graphic or “R” rated language, jokes or pictures should also have the thread title start with “NSFW” (not safe for work). “X” rated pornography will not be tolerated in any forum within TTZ.
  • We realize that many of our members are also members at other Tundra or truck forums. As such, we strongly discourage the bashing of any other Tundra or truck forum here at TTZ.
  • Retailers, wholesalers, and/or individual businesses (or those who represent these companies or individuals) may not solicit (either directly or indirectly) on TTZ without the express written permission of the site owner Squid. If you want to become a contributing member of the forum and advertise or promote products, then you must contact the owner about becoming a site sponsor. You may contact one of the moderators (listed on Home page) if you are unable to contact Squid. VIOLATIONS OF THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN DELETION OF THE POST AND POSSIBLE PERMANENT BANNING.
  • Due to federal and state laws and to protect this site, firearms, explosives, drugs (whether legal or illegal), or related items may not be bought, traded or sold on this site.
Posting Guidelines
  • New members should make their first post in the New Member forum, preferably introducing themselves and telling other members a little about themselves. New members will find they are likely to get a lot more help from other members if they have a problem or need an answer if they will follow this guideline.
  • The purpose of this site is to share information, knowledge and questions about Toyota Tundra Trucks. Social networking and even friendly discussions often result and are generally encouraged. If your sole purpose in joining this site is to post an item(s) using the Truck Mall sales area, then we strongly encourage you to use eBay or craigslist instead.
  • Please post your thread in the proper forum (e.g., don’t post a question about brakes in the Off-Topic forum).
  • Before you ask a question or request information, or PM an individual member regarding a technical question, please use the search function in the TTZ task bar.
  • While TTZ is very forgiving about re-asking questions, or posting about something previously posted, trying the search function first helps reduce the volume of different threads on similar subjects, keeping the forum more organized and the search function more effective.
  • If you accidentally post in the wrong forum, simply PM (private messaging) a moderator and they will move it for you.
  • If you have a problem with another member or feel you must respond to a post which might be a flame or an attack on you, please PM a moderator before you respond and they will deal with the issue.
  • Remember, none of us are perfect, so all material provided at Tundra Truckz.com is to be used on an "as is" basis. Opinions expressed by the members neither reflect the opinions of the administration of this website, nor Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC).
By joining and posting you agree that under no circumstances will Tundra Truckz.com, its administration, or any fellow member may be held liable for direct, indirect, incidental, or any other type of damages resulting from your use or downloading of any material (including suggested modifications) from Tundra Truckz.com. Last but not least we are in no way associated with TMC, any of our authorized vendors or sponsors, or any subsidiaries of these entities.

Thanks for joining our site and Welcome Aboard!

Just to reinterate. These rules have come about not from any problems with the contributing members we have here now but others who thought they could come here and run amuck because there were no rules telling them they couldn't.

So if you're not banned LOL, then you know the rules and should carry on with no worries.

Seems a shame that simple logic can't apply on a great forum like this. Not meaning to rant but get pretty disgusted with some attitudes and behavior. I have been a member since this forum started and feel that Squid and the Moderators will keep control.

I agree "p" and you are one who certainly should know since I understand that you are one of the charter members. While 99% of our members don't need these rules and guidelines, unfortunately there will always be the very few who do need them, and IMHO, most of these are newer members (as well as some businesses). Most all of us are fully aware of Squid's mandate to keep this forum a respectful, helpful and fun place for its members. These few who do not understand that, or refuse to understand that, now have no excuses for not learning and quickly adapting to the rich tradition of TTZ being the "friendliest, most helpful, and best danged forum around!" My 2 cents!

This way, if someone does something that is not approved of, and they are reprimanded, then the mods can refer them to these set of rules. They can't say they were treated unfairly if it's written.
