Any DIYers or Handy Men or Women here?

The reason I ask is because I've wanted to this for a couple of years now and I'm finally putting together a Projects and Tools Forum to show off and share my handy work around the Queens Victorian with others and I'm looking for some partners in crime. I am restoring not only the Queens Victorian but also an old dilapidated barn to become my wood shop/Auto restoration areas and in the process have a lot of stuff I want to share but living out in the sticks the only sharing I get to do is with the dogs.

Patterns, Tool reviews, projects and how to's from interior and exterior to gardening and outdoor structures is what I'm seeing but the possibilities are endless so if you're into this kind of stuff come on by and throw in your $.02.

I don't have near as many cool tools as you have, but I've been known to do a few projects. I'll dig up some pictures and add some to the site.

Squid,

I am totally jealous of your shop. I would love to have a project like that. I don't have any big projects, just a lot of little ones like some tiling and bathroom renos.

Here are a couple of pics of the ones I just finished.

Here is what the flooring used to look like. Talk about ghetto.

Front Foyer.

Front Bath.

Back Foyer.

After I do the floor in the kitchen this will be my next project.

Steve

Steve that's what I'm talking about. I'm a long way from being a Pro or an expert woodworker but I enjoy doing it, pay myself with tools and I'm looking forward to getting ideas from others. Great work!

Man - I could FILL this thread. I'm gonna have to get organized. I grew up building additions/remodels with my dad. 3 years ago, my wife and I "completed" our house (in "" because I've still got to finish all the trim and built-ins!). We contracted excavation, concrete, framing, electrical, insulation, roofing, and sheetrock, but did everything else ourselves (including design). Only reason I contracted concrete, framing and electrical was because I was also working 45 hrs a week when we were doing it, so didn't have time.

My rule is that each new project gets me one new tool...so I've got a pretty good collection built up by now. It sure makes things easier when you're set up and can get right to work. I still am dreaming of the day I get to build my shop - I'm currently set up in our unfinished daylight basement, but it's not the ideal layout for working wood. Someday...

So, we started with this: (the orange flags mark corners of the house in the muck - this is after I dropped 12 trees and had a cat pull the stumps).

Through framing:

And through siding (I'm the ugly one without a hat on)

I don't have any "finished" shot on my computer...in part because it's not "DONE"! We're finally getting the front landscaped this summer.
