Talking

AMAZING!!! LOL

"bring ground to here" means just that... and NOT "this is ground"

Sorry for being so thick headed... I guess we all have our moments, although most who know me, know it happens far too often for me...LOL

Thanks Toxarch... You're name says it all

Well to contribute anything to this insanely awesome thread... This is what I did with my Ipod adapter install... I didn't realize that Toxarch had already posted his BT module install, unil after my install, which is somewhat funny, as I was kinda thinking the same, and wanted it closer to the driver's seat(perhaps less RF issues/interference/lag)... and decided to install the IPOD adapter on the opposite side... I was relieved to see that he did the same with his BT module...
BT Module:

Also, Toxarch mentioned installing the mic in the upper left area in the windshield.. I've had my Avic for quit some time... tried alot of things, and honestly, this is the best location to get it out of the BT audio speaker's range of fire(echo) and I didn't second guess installing it there...not to mention, that it's way easier than fishing it to the overhead console...

Anyhoo... I couldn't make up my mind as to where to install my Ipod adapter... I originally wanted it in my upper glove box, but it's pretty much out of reach for me...and I wanted to mount a dock for it, but the Iphone/Ipod Touch doesn't fit upright... so I went with the rediculously large center console area of the Tundras...and gave up the dock idea (NO, I am NOT an Apple fanboy by any means)

Anyways.... I, carefully/a couple too many of brewskies, cut the bottom side of the 12V source's mount(in the center console) with a dremel...

Although it looks a mess, I can feed more wire back into the center console... BTW, this is my old 8G Iphone, in which the Avic charges..

And if I want for others to control it, or just want to manually control it, you can pull it out, and "smash" the cord in the console lid...

I also did a slight LED change to my Avic's button color... I was going to try to go with red... but given what I know of LED's, the red would not have matched the orange'y red of the Tundra... the only thing I could have done to match it, would have been to put some kind of tint/film on the Avic's buttons... So I chose to go with white to better match the instrument cluster...
I'm pretty happy with it...

The LED's I used... Unique Leds High Quality hard to find LED and LED products with fare shipping and everyday low pricing - LEDS :: SMD LEDS :: 0603 SMD

Stock Avic's color:

New white:

And you should have said you wanted Amber LEDs to match the console. I have Amber LEDs from two trucks' dashes sitting around. You could have had all you wanted to use. They would have for sure matched the dash color.

DOH!!!
My eyes aren't worth a poop...LOL...there isn't a day that my GF doesn't remind me that I'm color-blind(although I disagree)...

I just didn't even consider amber.... But now, I bet it would have been alot closer to match than red...
