I found two green wires in the a-pillar... The one I used is the sole green wire in the front most connector i tha a-pillar... note the quick splice on the green wire in this pic...

I only used quick splices to test everything, before I cut/soldered/heatshrinked my connections...

Sweet Dawg, thanks for the immediately reply! I was planning to tap into the A-Pillar also. It just makes much more sense. However, I guess I'm way too visual. Since the voltage regulator looks like a "Y," what plugs where? I'm just confused on how to wire it... This will be the last thing I need to know and I will post my install of my DNX9140 that's coming.

With the regulator, if you follow the picture of mine located here
http://www.toyotatundraforum.com/audio-visual/1747-pioneer-avic-z2-nav-install-lots-8.html#post44387

You have the red tapped into your 12v power and the black grounded(doesn't matter where as long as it's grounded)... the single red wire at the other end, needs to go to your camera's power(regulated power)... and if you read through some of Toxarch's replies to my post, you'll see that you have to ground that white wire... It took a bit for my thick head to realize this...

MAN! Seriously, I knew it was going to be something simple. Thanks tremendously for that.

Side note: I'm the type of person that if I don't understand something, it bugs the ish outta me forever. So not knowing when going to sleep yesterday left me disturbed.. LOL. Thanks again Dawg!

I see Dawgbone already answered everything. Those pictures of his regular should help a bunch. Just be sure to make sure your pin-out on the regulator you buy is the same before soldering. I think some are made different.

Thanks for the advice! I'll be sure to try (key word 'try') to avoid doing it wrong. But I am just a novice when it comes to it. What do you mean by pin-out the regulator?

Look at the back of the regulator's package. and make sure it coordinates with what I've got in my picture....

If you got the same P/N and from RadioShack, then most likely it's the same... But just check... there are three prongs on the bottom side...one it power...one is ground...and the other is for the adjustment...

I think I read that Rage actually initially had his hooked up straight to 12v, and that it did fine for the short time he had it like that... But the picture was garbled... and when he finally cut the power back, it got alot clearer... So if you're using a 200 ohm versus 220, I really don't see it being harmful... I believe that you just want to stay below 7v at the end of the regulator... I'm not intelligent enough to figure out the math, but try it, and measure it before hooking it all up...

Cool. I'm pretty positive I got the same regulator. There were two in the same spot. One was hard packaged like yours and the other was soft. But both are essentially the same part number. I have the same 220 Ohm and 100 Ohm resistors as you pictured so I'm just going to hook identically the way you did. This will guarantee a 'pin-out' I assume. Also, when I look at your picture testing it with your voltmeter, what are the wires hooked up to?

I feel dumb asking these questions, but it's the only way I will learn.

I have a power supply that I use for my RC's(remote controlled nitro/electric trucks)(the white wires)

But any car battery charger will result in the same... or even a PC power supply... Pretty much anything that drops 110/115v to 12V....

Like I mentioned, anything 12V will work... a car battery charger will help you test it... or even your current battery on any vehicle with a healthy battery will give you the same results.... just make sure you have 12v going in, and below 7v going out of the regulator

Cool. I feel pretty confident on what I'm doing at this point. The advice you provided, along with threads from Toxarch, Rage, Jumbo, and Pedro have helped enormously.

As soon as I get all my stuff together, I'll post some pictures. Heck, I'm even waiting for my camera since that was stolen during a house robbery a while back. But that's even that's coming tomorrow.
