| Okay, I finally connected the RCA cable to the Pillar wires. Ended up cutting off those connectors I had previously used. I soldered on a piece of wire to each end (Shield/Coax) then cut the red/gray wires and stripped them back. I then just soldered all 3 wires together and covered them with electrical tape. Should of snapped a pic, I was proud of my work. Thanks fellas. Now I just have to wait to get my damn dash kit. I'll run the wire from the brake sensor to the back of the HU this weekend as I impatiently wait for my dash kit to arrive. |

| Pick up some longer screws, wire, etc. on the way home to do the stereo lock. Either way, you will want the longer screws. You need M5 x 10 screws (a little longer is OK) and washers. http://www.toyotatundraforum.com/aud...ock-cable.html

| OK, a report on the install of the AVIC Z-2 leaving the overhead monitor "on" and tying into the driver's A pillar camera wires. Originally, I left everything alone in the upper console, and the HU reverse function worked fine, but the "rear view" map option in the HU while going forward did not. I tried tying the light blue Homelink mirror wire into the dark blue isolated overhead monitor side and got a pic on the "rear view" going forward, but no pic on the HU when in reverse. So, I figured that the entire driver's A pillar camera wires depend on the overhead monitor and it must be fully functional. Installed the microswitch mod and walla, reverse image on the HU and if you flip the monitor down, the HU switches to full screen rear view while going forward. What I can't get to work is the HU "rear view" setting with the smaller GPS map to the right. What am I doing wrong? |

| Did you flip the monitor down first and then try a split screen reverse view? It won't be split screen in reverse. Sounds like the monitor is cutting the power to the camera when it's not displaying anything. You might have to cut the 6 volt +/- going to the camera and feed it full time with a 6v regulator. |

And, even worse, after driving around yesterday for a while with no problems, this morning I start the truck and the 4LO, VSC, Check Engine and Traction lights are all flashing... wonder what's up with that? Will reset the computer to clear the codes and see if that stops it. If not, I guess it goes to the service department. |

| OK, just hooked up the ScanGuageII and got a trouble code of P0705. According to a Google search, the P0705 Toyota code= Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input). Not exactly sure what that means, but I cleared the code and the 4LO, VSC, Check Engine and Traction lights all went out. Guess I'll wait and see if they stay off before it goes to the service department. |

| So if you are driving forward, with a map on the NAV unit, and you flip down the monitor, does the NAV switch to the reverse view on its own? If so then that means something isn't right. That would mean it's getting a reverse signal from the monitor. You could solve that by putting a diode on the monitor's reverse wire. Out of curiosity, when you flip down the monitor, do the reverse lights come on? Wonder if that's the reason for the code. |

| An inline Diode should work. Rectifier diode is good to use. Rectifier diodes are made for a higher amperage draw. Don't get a zener diode. ![]() Rectifier Diode Part Number / Maximum Current / Maximum Reverse Voltage 1N4001 1A 50V 1N4002 1A 100V 1N4007 1A 1000V 1N5401 3A 100V 1N5408 3A 1000V |
