The dark blue wire doesn't go to the camera, it goes to the rest of the truck. I assume it's the reverse signal wire.

On the mircoswitch, you would wire the dark blue to the normally open plug and the light blue wire to the normally closed plug. BUT, since you will only use the monitor when down, then there is no need for the dark blue wire at all and you can just cut the wire where I had that diode in the previous drawing.

Edit: forget that second part. You need the dark blue wire to turn the monitor on for the NAV unit. Wire it up like your second diagram.

It is Tox.... when in reverse, the dark blue wire sends 12 volts to the B/U camera monitor which regulates that to 6 volts to the camera.

The second wiring diagram works Tox. When the flip down monitor is up and the truck is in reverse, the HU shows the entire screen reverse view. When the truck is moving forward, to get the HU split rear view I have to lower the OEM flip down monitor. Probably not the ideal situaiton but it works.... and no more flashing dash lights and codes, lol!

EDIT: One advantage of doing it this way is I can see the rear view on the flip-down monitor while moving forward without having to change anything on the Pioneer HU.

Hey guys, just wanted to send you a big "THANK YOU" for all your help on this. Without you guys, I wouldn't of even attempted to run my backup cam to the HU. Just hooked everything up this AM.

Congrats SybErk.... looking good. BTW, you might have said earlier, but what head unit did you buy?

Personally, I have only to hook up my steering wheel control module this weekend. I decided there wasn't a good place to put the PAC SWI-X IR eye that worked well, so I bought a PAC SWI-SR, which is a hard-wired remote. The other thing I need to do is plug my danged microphone in when I have it apart again.... some "dummy" (read that as yours truly) forgot to plug it in the last time it was apart, lol!

It's the Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD. next up, I'll be installing some component speakers in the front and rear doors. Still not sure where to mount the tweets, but I'll figure it out. I'm just gonna tape them to different parts of the door/sail panel and dash before deciding where to put them. i'd guess best place would be right next to the mid down below where the stock speakers go.

Build your own MDF bracket and mount the mid and high in the bracket.
