| You can feed the camera 12 volts and it will work. Some people ran them on 12 volts for a couple of months before one person noticed it's supposed to run on between 5-7 volts. These are the wires for the camera in the A-pillar:

| Thanks again Tox... I have no idea what wire caused for 10v to go through the video feed wires... My guess is the white wire that I was hoping for ground wasn't a ground... ![]() I should have cont checked it with my meter, but my probes were too big and wouldn't hit the contacts in the factory connectors, and it was a PITA to try to do it with a saftey pin by myself... so I just went with it... Oh well, live and learn. I'll bring my cam to the stealership and see if they can test it out on one of their trucks... and if it's indeed burnt up, I'll try to see if they'll take it back for warranty, although I take full blame for it... |

| Well good news... My camera works fine in another truck... Man those suckers must be bullet proof Now I need to figure out why I don't have permission to see that pic? ![]() Although, I cut back the insulation and followed it up the a-pillar, and the red and gray wires I used are in fact wrapped in blue sheathing. | I bet you can see it now. I fixed the problem. It was my fault, not yours. |

| Yeah it's turned on... just no video ![]() I was first tapping into the wires, just to make sure it all worked, then I was going to cut and solder them one I knew everything was good... I finally cut the video wires, as I was getting aggrivated while troubleshooting, and wanted to make sure that the taps weren't the problem... Sorry for the poor pics/lighting...I'm holding the video wires going down(soldered/heatshrinked, then covered with bigger heat shrink)...My 6.5V and reverse is still tapped...I ran my own ground(can see where I tapped into it previously)...and the red and gray(going up) are split apart just above my hand... ![]() ![]() I'm really not sure what to think now... Maybe it's my Avic... I also checked the connections under the bed, and from what I can tell they're good as well... I think I have some video out composite cables for my camcorder and try to hook it up to the Avic's video, throw the truck in reverse, and see if I get any video out of it... |

| In that picture, it doesn't look like that white wire is grounded. You need a wire going from that white wire straight to ground. Got a small TV with a video (yellow RCA) input? You should be able to plug the coax into the TV to check your camera wiring. |

I ended up running the ACC and ground from the same source as my HU and Ipod module... I'm sure it's something simple... just takes a bone head like me to dork it up...LOL |

| The white wire is not grounded. You need to ground it yourself for the camera to work. |
