Tundra 2008 DVD Navigation + Radio Problem

Hello everybody,

I bought my 2008 Tundra 2 months ago and I had shipped all the way to Qatar, Middle east.

I am having a problem with the Navigation system and Radio ..

The car came with North America DVD map, Which I really dont need, and when I tried the middle east DVD map "which comes with the Land cruiser" , the system could not recognize it Help Plz!!

The second problem is the Radio .. the channels are in Odd numbers .. you can not tune to an EVEN number channel!!! most of the FM channles here are in even numbers "102.2 for example" when I try to tune to it, Either I get 102.1 or 102.3 ..

Any hints or insights are much appreciated... I was trying to contact Toyota USA to provide me with a system CD or somthing that can fix those problems but I couldnt reach them .. Anyone who can pass my request to them is so much appreciated..

North American radio stations are in odd channels, as you might have guessed. Not sure about the NAV. I wonder if there is a way to use the Tundra NAV CD and then burn the middle east maps on it on a new disk. I don't know much at all about it, but maybe it's possible.

aldosari,

Try Toyota Owners Online | Official Toyota Owners Website

Then on the bottom right click on Contact Toyota. You have to exhaust all other options but, it does appear that you eventually get to a point where an e-mail will get sent to Toyota.

Post some pics from your part of the planet when you get a chance.

Would you happen to have a list of Toyota vehicles available there? Maybe we can come up with a vehicle that uses a NAV disc that will work. For example, the Toyota Prius disc is supposed to work on the Tundra NAV. Course, you might not have the Prius in your area since gas is less expensive and the Prius is a hybrid gas/electric car.

We have here Land cruiser
(imagine that maybe 50% of the cars on the road here are Land cruisers!! The dealer here is making lot of $$$)

Anyway, back to the subject .. I tried the land cruiser Map DVD and it did not work .. the Tundra system could not read it ..

I am thinking of burning the north america DVD map to a new re-writeable DVD disk .. then somehow explore the content and replace the maps while keeping other system files .. I dont know.. I am going crazy here =/
