Aftermarket Fog Lamps install on SR5 with "Halo" option - separate switch

Hello all, I just finished this install yesterday and here's what I had done on my truck.

This is pretty close to what Toxarch did on his posting http://www.toyotatundraforum.com/ext...-pictures.html
with a little modification on my end due to a different set of lamps altogether.

I purchased my set through BLING LIGHTS

They're a nice set, 55W H3, of lights with a secondary blue "Halo" glow that you can switch on to give you that unique BMW like "corona light rings". Definitely stands you out from the crowd at dusk.

The only issues with their light kits are:
  1. The wiring. About 4 ft. too short from light to light, & the switch attachment needs to be extended by 4 -5 feet. So you'll need to do some rewiring or extending at least.
  2. You'll need to fabricate (pretty simple) a bracket to adapt their bracket to the tab on the truck to give you 2 advantages... up & down beam adjustment & correct lens beam orientation. (This measures 1" at the short bend x 4" at the long bend x 2" wide) I picked up some 1/8" thick x 2" wide flat aluminum at The Home Depot .aftermarket-fog-lamps-install-sr5-halo-dscf0007.jpg I cut them at 5-1/2" long, placed a little over 1" in a vise & used a soft face mallet to bend it 90 degrees.
Here are the basic steps:
  1. Removal of wheel well front panels (3 clips & 2 bolts per side)
  2. Pop out the bumper hole caps by pressing down the tabs (approx 11 & 2 o'clock position when viewed from the back) then pushing forward (pops out the front)
  3. Cut the hole approx 3-7/8" in the center of the caps, then file a small half-moon tab at the bottom for the Halo wire. aftermarket-fog-lamps-install-sr5-halo-dscf0013.jpg
  4. Mount the lights & install the brackets that came with the kit. I mounted mine at max forward to press up against the plastic.
  5. Position the assy in the hole & this should give you a pretty good idea where you need the holes drilled on your angle bracket. I used a very short pencil to mark them.aftermarket-fog-lamps-install-sr5-halo-dscf0024.jpg
  6. Drill your brackets aftermarket-fog-lamps-install-sr5-halo-dscf0012.jpg& assemble units using 1/4-20 bolts, washers & lock nuts
  7. Install from front of bumper & Voila! lights mounted!
Now you have the wiring to deal with. I'll continue on this Thread via another posting since I've met my 5 max pix upload...

Kudos! My next project is to add billet grilles & check out the AES air intake system. Seeing if I can bump that 381 pass the 400 mark...

Very nice. I need to change mine to an angled bracket on mine as well. Just haven't had time to get around to doing it yet.

The ones I did also have the halo lights as well, though they aren't as pronounced as yours are. I just wired those up to the parking lights.

I really want to order something like this, but afraid they won't match the halogen halos in my headlights.
