| I am going to be installing 1) homelink mirror 2) an always on modded backup camera (needs to have switched 12V power & ground) and 3) would like to hardwire my radar detector. Is is possible to use the same light blue wire (switched 12V) and white with black stripe (ground) for all 3 items or will this overload, blow a fuse, not have enough power for all 3, etc? |

| If it is the Toyota camera, then it takes 6 volts. You can run the mirror and the radar detector off that same power, but I wouldn't do the camera. I think you would blow a fuse. There should be a switched power for the OEM monitor that uses the other plug.

| Yes, I am talking about the OEM flip down monitor, and I know I can just plug it in to the harness, but I want to modify it to stay on when flipped down and not just in reverse. To do this I need 12V switched power and a ground. My question is can I run the monitor always on 12V switched power, radar detector power, and plug in the homelink mirror all using the same harness? If not, is there more switched 12V power I can tap into up in the console instead of havinng to run wire from the fuse box all the way up to the console? If I have to run power from the fuse box up, what fuse did you tap into? |

| The monitor has its own harness and power in the overhead. ![]() See the white plug on the left? That is for the monitor. |

Yes, I plan on using the harness for the monitor, but the power on the monitor harness is only activated when the truck is in reverse. I plan on modifying it to run all the time instead of just in reverse so I need 12V switched power and a ground. |

1) You used the light blue & white w/ black stripe wire to power the anytime mod switch, but you ran a seperate cable from the fuse box up to the console to power your radar detector? 2) I see you used 3M connectors based on your post to tap into the wires, but do you have the model numbers/types so I know what I need to buy? 3) For the radar detector power, if you ran a seperate wire up from the fuse box to the console which fuse did you tap into? What gauge wire did you use? Did you put an inline fuse (what amp?) Did you have to run a seperate ground or can you use the same white w/ black stripe as a ground from the mirror? Sorry for all the questions, but I don't want to mess anything up and I have read about people having electrical issues or having air bags deploy when they don't know what they are doing. Thanks in advance for your help! |
