middle dash speaker install

After swapping out all the speakers (4 doors and 2 R/L front dash speaker), I want to drop in another 4" for the middle front dash. This is on the 07 Tundra non-JBL system. There is an empty space there on non-jbl system and I have a pair of extra 4" I'd like to use...

Can I just wired in parallel to one of the rear door speaker wire like the way stock wire the 3.5" dash speaker parallel to the front door speakers? If so, this will only be ONE thus either tap into left or right rear speaker..will this make it "imbalance" and screw things up somehow?? Please note that I'll swap out the head unit to Eclipse avn 5510. Speakers will be powered by this head unit.

The Eclipse might have a powered center speaker channel. If you tie into the stock unit without the center channel output, it will throw you sound staging off. Look into the Eclipse speaker outputs and you might be able to do it then.

Also, I thought all three dash speaker cutouts were for 3.5" speakers. You may have to cut a little to get the 4" in there.

I'd be interested in the wiring is already there and adding a stock speaker... I took the grate off and looked, but I found no wiring.

You may have to reach under the edge or pull the head unit out to find the wiring. They tend to tuck away unused wire ends.

The middle speaker is right on top of the stereo..you can take the grill off and touch the stock radio from there. There is no extra wire on the non-jbl system. There are no extra speaker output on the Eclipse...just 4 basic speaker system.

It might have a 5.1 output for movie surround sound. Then you could use an external amp to drive the center dash speaker.

I installed the system today. Took a long time and still haven't gone yet. I left the middle out since it might mess up the sound image.
I put in the 5510, mb quart component (qsd 216) front, mb quart rear, boston acoustic front dash.
Going to put in the pioneer 12" thin sub and box & JL 250/1 amp. Ran wiring for amp already..just need the box for sub now.

If you want to put in a center speaker and have no center channel output, try connecting 1 lead of the center speaker to the left front + and the other to the right front +. this may create a real neat effect tht sometimes sounds kind of like a reverb. I have done this many times and it sounds good unless you are listening to a weak fm station and then the hiss may be worse from this speaker. try it and if you dont like it take it out.

How do you remove the center speaker grille? Pry it up?
