Yes, you can use the key or you can use the remote. Both still work.

That might be a little more work than I care to try. I think it would be easier to make my own tonneau and motorize it than try to convert this one.

I see you were going for multiple tailgate failures all at the same time! (Sorry I coldn't resist.)

My theory is that if the tailgate is going to fail, then it is going to fail. I'm not going to change the way I use the truck to avoid a failure. Though, I will use a trailer for the really heavy stuff.

Well, I am happy to report that as of this past Sunday, I now have the KeyFob tailgate lock mod, courtesy of Toxarch!! He did a great job and I am tickled to death with it! Thanks again Tox!!

Where did you get the 1" actuators? I bought a 3/4" but I can see it is not enough. If you have one left I will buy! THX
