Seatbelt Warning Chime Disable Procedure(?)

Over on the FJ site a member posted that this procudure disabled the chimes on his FJ. Thought maybe someone might want to try it on the Tundra.

I did find this on disabling the seat belt chime:

From the off position:
  1. Turn Key to ON
  2. Within 6 seconds, press and HOLD the odometer button
  3. Wait 12-14 seconds (count 1 one-thousand, 2 one-thousand.....)
  4. Buckle your seat belt
  5. Let go of the odometer button and press it again
  6. Wait a few seconds until it clears and goes back to the odometer with your mileage displayed.
or you can try this sequence. I think it is outlined in the manual somewhere.
  1. Press the ODO/TRIP switch until odometer displays "ODO"
  2. Turn the ignition switch "Off"
  3. Turn the ignition switch "On"
  4. Press ODO/TRIP switch immediately (within 6 seconds after turning the power switch on) and hold it down for 10 seconds or more
  5. Continue holding the ODO/TRIP switch and fasten the Passengers seat belt
  6. Check that the odometer displays either "b-on" or "b-off" (it will be "b-on")
  7. Press the ODO/TRIP button to change the display to "b-off"
  8. Turn the ignition switch off.
  9. Turn the ignition switch on while depressing the brake pedal.
  10. Check that no seat belt chime sounds when setting in the front passenger seat.

I believe a couple of people on TS tried that when the new Tundra came out. It didn't work. But it wouldn't hurt for one of us to try it to be sure. I would try, but mine are already disabled.

Passenger side can be programmed off, ask your dealership to do it.
If they give you a bunch of "we can't do that" direct them to this website as many here (including myself) have had dealers do it for them (some off the clock, some on).

Here is a list of everything they can change on the Tundra with the techstream computer. The stock alarm comes on all Tundras and can be turned on with the computer. I never knew that the windows could be set to roll down when you use the key in the door.

Some dealers don't know any of this. If they don't know about it, offer to give them the whole thing if they make a few changes for you for free.

hmm, I wonder if a person could substitute a sensor on the tailgate/topper door and wire it into the glass breakage sensor, and then enable it?
Anyone have that wiring Diagram? (Probably the only one I'm missing)

Can you put in an OEM hood pin and use it with the basic stock alarm? If so, then wire in a tailgate pin and tie into the wiring for the hood pin.

By pin do you mean switch?
I think you have to have the hood switch programmed on so the ECM monitors it, but I think either would work.

I found the wiring diagram (See attached, glass switch is on pg 6).
Without ever testing or even seeing a glass breakage sensor, here is how I think it might work, depending on if it is sourcing instead of sinking, with a program change of course. Anyone bought one that could test this out?

So, the passenger chime can be disabled with the computer. How about the driver's side? Does the information in the very first post work?
