Exclamation Blower Motor Questions

Does anyone know how to remove the blower motor? It started making a funny clicking noise and I just want to check and make sure that there is nothing in the ducting or the motor causing this as it is quite annoying. Any help would be appreciated

It should unscrew under the passenger side dash. I'll look through the pdfs I have and see if I can find something that shows it. You could try just removing the cabin filter and see if you can get to whatever it is from there.

This will show a video of how to get the cabin filter out:
WELCOME TO TOYOTAiGUIDE.COM
click "Climate Control" and then click "Cabin Air Filter"
And be careful pulling the filter out. Anything on the filter will drop down into the fan if you aren't careful.

Thanks Tox....I have a sneaking suspicion it is the blower motor itself as the truck sits andidles lots with the motor on high to keep the truck warm. Wouldn't hurt to check the cabin filter though. Thanks again.

Mine started ticking and it was annoying as hell. Turned out to be worn brushes. The motor is sealed so, I had to buy a new one. $180.
It will drop out from under the pass dash in about 10 min. 3-4 screws. Unplug the wire connector. Then it will come right out.

I worked on mine for a total of about 3 hours trying to fix it. I lubed it, cleaned it, and even tried to take it all the way apart. All with no luck.

$180 is ridiculous so, if someone knows of a cheaper place...post it.

I know it is made by 4-season which is made right here in Grapevine, TX but, they will not even think about selling you one. They only sell to MAJOR WHOLE SELLERS. Truckloads at a time.

I've had the dealer check out mine twice and they said everything was fine, from time to time, hear the squeak when its running on low. Sounds like the bushings are going bad. I've got 6K miles left on warranty. I'm going to get them to replace it.

Mine is doing the same thing, hugely obnoxious as I sometimes like a nice quiet place to hide.... that is supposed to be my Tundra on the drive home. Instead that little noise seemingly gets louder and louder....it makes me crazy!

I was at the dealer today getting my sinking dash fixed (2nd time) and I mentioned that the fan motor/blower was still making that funny squeaky noise ( A little Christmas Vacation Humor). Its been a broken record coming from the past year and a half and at least 5 visits. The tech was standing there and walked out with me for another "listen" and I finally convinced him that the motor bushings was bad. So finally, they ordered me a new fan motor!!!!

I pulled out the cabin filter and had a leaf fall behind it. I now have a noise that I cannot hear, but drives my kids nuts. I would fix it, but I kinda enjoy the fact that my kids can hear this annoying noise and I cannot. I guess old age has its perks.

Its funny this tread posted, cus I just noticed a low whizzing noise today from my blower when on low. Thought it was the radio at first. Its good to listen to your vehicle while driving to catch any noises.
