| Another fog light wiring question Maybe I've missed it, but I feel like I've read through all of these posts on fog lights and haven't found the answer I'm looking for. I have aftermarket fog lights installed (not wired) and am wondering if there is a way to use the existing wiring harnesses to power them. The kit came with wiring / fuse / relay setup, but I'd rather use the protected wires already routed in the truck if possible. Also, I'd like to use the stock relay location and add the Advanced Auto Parts relay. The real issue comes in on the switch side. I don't want to buy the stock column light stick switch, would rather have an aftermarket switch in a dash blank. Question is this: Is there a way to splice a switch into the wires that are already routed to the steering column? If so, where and how can I access them? I've read through a bunch of members' installs but haven't seen this done. Any thoughts?...or am I way off here. ![]() |

First off - welcome to TundraTruckz.com!! Glad you joined up. This is what I did: I cut the fog light connectors from the harness under the bumper (left about 12 inches of wire attached to them) and then soldered together my own harness. I did not want to use the turn signal switch either so I used an aftermarket switch. I did not try to utilize the existing harness but I am sure an electrical expert could probably pinpoint a point under the dash you could tap into. Good luck, re.ac.tor ![]()
