IS there an install for automatic headlights??

My 2008 Crewmax TRD doesn't have the automatic headlights (the ones that come on when it gets dark and off during the day) I have daytime running lights on the truck, I am looking to put what is on the Limited model, does anyone have any ideas on a DIY??

I have seen it discussed, but I have not read of anyone trying it.

It just annoys me that my old and busted car that I am driving I never have to turn the headlights on, I just flipped it to the auto setting and never touched since the day I bought it.

Well, if you don't mind the dimmed radio, you can turn on the Tundra headlights and just leave them on. They will turn off by themself after a minute or so when the truck is turned off, or you can hit the lock button twice to turn them off right away.

Another thing I was wondering about was the power management system, on my previous vehicle if I left an interior light on, it would shut off after 5 minutes, the Tundra won't, I was confused. Does it shut off when the battery hits a certain voltage or something??

I found out about the headlights shutting off automatically during a camping trip. We were about 5-10min into setting up our tent in the middle of the night and the headlights went out. oops

I think if you turn the truck off and then turn the head lights on, then they will stay on. Or at least that has been my experience while working on the truck.

Not sure about the power management system. I know it turns off the power ports after 20 minutes.

I have the auto feature on my LTD and find that it is nearly useless. When it is starting to get dark outside, I have to turn the lights on manually. When in auto mode it has to be nearly dark before they turn on.
They seem to turn off OK when it gets light out in the morning, but that is it.
For me, I wouldn't spend a dime on adding that feature, but that is just me and time I usually drive.
Maybe someone else with a LTD(like Rarjar), has had a better experience than mine and will chime in with what they think of the auto feature.

Sky... since you asked, my Limited auto headlights actually come on very early in the evening (often before I would have turned them on manually) and go off about right when it gets daylight. You might to consider a trip to the dealer. My Tundra is actually better than my previous Titan's LE auto headlights.
