I'm not completely sure, but I think there is a post somewhere on here saying that the black one is for the sonar. Tox, do you remember that post?

If you don't have a backup camera, one is likely for that.

The black plug with 3 wires should be for the sonar. The plug with 4 wires (mine is a light grey) is for the backup camera.

I have 08 SR5 V6 but Why is it I dont have that connectors on the right side like what richard is saying, is that the one that he's saying its near bumper on the passenger side??? I have only the 2 connectors on the left side near bumper driver side one is empty and the other one is connected to the towing hitch. On the overhead console I found the connector for the monitor, I still dont know why I dont have that connector at the rear, until now I cannot use my back up camera.

Help Please!!!

If you will go to the Sparks Toyota website and look at the back-up camera description ,it states that the V6 MUST have sonar in order to install the rear camera.

Yeah, I too have a V6 SR5 and all I have is the "sonar" black plug on the pass side...does anyone know if I/we can somehow get the camera to work? Even if I have to wire the camera to the cab I don't mind (I pulled my overhead console down and I have the white monitor and Homelink plugs) but, where would I tie in? Thanks
