lol, if you are fairly comfortable with a soldering iron it's not too bad. I just got a new soldering iron a few months ago and did my led's with the tip that came with it. Just my got new tips last week that are suppose to be used on SMD's. The pictures make it look smaller than it is i suppose. Most of the people who have actually done it will tell you it wasn't a hard job once you get down into it.

Using the axials as replacements isn't that bad. If you use the same small LEDs as you are removing, it can be a bit frustrating.

Yea. The axials have long enough legs to put the led in the right spot but you can still grab other contact points that aren't friggin tiny.

Tony, the blue Leds in the door switch panel and my cup holder look great it really offsets that white. for my Led in the cup holder I actually drilled it out and then drill to tiny holes for the legs to line up right on the metal spots.

LEDs

Your color options are Yellow, Green, Red, Blue, White, and Amber. Though, you might not want to get the amber. Ebay had some listings for like a 100 white for $50 that someone might want to split with someone else wanting white.

As for how long it took, I would say around 5 hours from disassembly to reassembly. I was doing other stuff in-between so it might be shorter. It doesn't seem like it took very long thinking back on it, but I guess it must have when thinking about what time I started and when I ended.
-Tox if you didnt use these LEDs when doing your buttons which ones did you use? also did you ever find out about the compatibility of these LEDs?

-Also Did anyone find a website to find the 1.78mm Axial LEDs at a better price?

I believe the original small LEDs were 0603 and 0805 LEDs.

So can this mod be done without the axial LEDs, using the 0805 and 0603 LEDs instead?

Did a white background and red needles for another Tundra owner today. Thought it looks really nice. The red needles really stand out on the white background.
