Just a suggestion Tox, maybe you need to come up with a standard DIY difficulty scale. For example, when you say a mod difficulty of 38... 38 out of what (50 or 100, or some other number)?

Also, I can testify as to the tailgate lock mod. Tox did mine one weekend when he was at my ranch hunting and it is one of the best mods ever. BTW, Tox, my friction fitting for the throw arm has not come loose and I lock and unlock the tailgate a lot!

I know. I did that on purpose.

How about 38 out of 62?

Good to hear. Ever since I changed mine, it's stayed on as well. I'm thinking I might do the tailgate auto open mod. Push a button on my remote and the tailgate opens for me. I think WT did it on his truck after he did the auto tailgate lock.

Well, right now, I have to carry something out to the truck, pull the key fob out, hit the button twice, open the tailgate, then load whatever I am carrying. This way, I can just let the tailgate open itself before I grab whatever I am carrying out there. And I did add extra wires when I did both of our installs just in case something like this was wanted. I think I put two extra wires. Say, one for the tailgate opening and the other for an auxiliary work light/reverse light pointing backwards?

You know I was just kidding you about the "height of laziness." BTW, I know you put 2 extra wires in on my install, and I am certain you told me you did the same thing on yours (as I recall, you said for the purpose of "future expansion!").

you said you wanted to do a mod where the tailgate opens by the push of a button? NOW THATS AN IDEA are the gas tubes that lowers the tailgate adjustable? or do you think the process would only require a latch that pushes the tailgate off the lock on a push of a button? This could be a potential good mod.

You don't have to push or adjust anything. All you have to do is to unlatch the tailgate.

The radio uses 40 LED just like the gauges. I have the JBL radio that I changed to the BLUE LED. I replace it with a Z2 and still have the JBL unit if your interested.

Thank you. I will just change the bulbs in mine if I decide to do it. How much for the radio just in case I change my mind.
