I seen your excel spreadsheet. This is VERY helpful... Wow talk about detailed... I went and found that my shock sensor was only set at 8 so Iset it to 15. It is a little better now, but I think my space disturbacne sensor is causing issues.

It is pretty cool though, the alarm can be on with the windows down. If someone sticks their hand inside or looks in the truck it will automatically roll the windows up...

I will probably be adding another shock sensor. Is your integrated one enough to make the alarm go off?

The integrated shock sensor works great. To supplement the shock sensor, I have the 507M digital tilt sensor set at 1 degree triggering for sensing if someone is jacking the truck up to steal my wheels.

Where did you mount your alarm Brain? I am relocating mine. He put it up inside by the steering rack..

Audio Sensor
The 506T should trigger the alarm by tapping a key against the window. If it is not triggering then it could be any of the following:
  • Wired incorrectly
  • Sensitivity is turned all the way down
    • There is a sensitivity potentiometer on the side of the 506T, if I remember correctly clockwise increases sensitivity and counterclockwise decreases sensitivity. I have mine set about midway and don't experience any false triggers.
  • Microphone is disconnected
    • Make sure the microphone cable is securely seated in the 506T
Make sure the "Sensor Trigger" (Security Feature Menu 1-12) is set to "Single", if it is set to "Double" then 2 sensors will have to be trigger within 5 seconds of each other to trigger alarm.

Shock Sensor
You have the sensitivity maxed out @ 15 on the shock sensor so it should trigger the alarm with very little movement. Make sure the Nuisance Prevention Circuitry (NPC) has not been triggered. If it has been triggered then you should hear 5 chirps when you disarm.

Automatic Headlights
I had the same problem with my automatic headlights. Toyota's Automatic Headlights Feature keeps the headlights on after the engine has been turned off until either a door has opened or the headlight switch is turned off. So I connected a 12volt SPDT relay to the "Factory Alarm Arm Output" of the 5701 and interrupted the Automatic Headlight switch input to the BECU when the remote start was turned off. Open the Viper 5701 2nd Gen Tundra Electrical Connections workbook and look at the "Viper 5701 - H2" and "Auto Head Light Interrupt Relay" worksheets for details. Make sure that "Factory Alarm Disarm-With Unlock" (Convenience Feature Menu 2-7) is set to "Remote Start Only"

I have another issue. Lets say my alarm is active on and I go to remote start it , the alarm goes off so I have to quickly disarm it. What would cuase that?

Probably the shock sensor. Most alarms will disable the sensors, start the vehicle, and then reenable the sensors again.

Toxarch,

I am using a Viper 5901 with DEI stuff. So shouldn't the alarm take care of this?

If you are talking about the trucks OEM alarm triggering when the truck is remote started then the Viper's "Remote Start Status Output" needs to be connected to the "Key Sense" wire at the ignition, this tells the truck's ECU that a key is in the ignition. If the engine is started and the truck's ECU does not detect a key in the ignition it will sound the OEM alarm.

If the Viper alarm is triggering then I'm not sure what it is. Count the number of Status LED flashes when you disarm, this will tell you what triggered the alarm and help narrow down the possibilities. The number of flashes will correspond with the Zone triggered, at least that is how it works on the 5701.

Yeah it is the trucks OEM alarm going off ..... Wow this installer charged me an arm and a leg and left me with some headaches. He set it up to not passive ly lock so i did not see this when testing the remote start.
