Fog Light Install

I've posted some pictures I took during the installation of fog lights on my DC LB. Here is the page: http://www.toyotatundraforum.com/pho...500/ppuser/138

Materials I used to mount the fog lights:

1/4" x 1" x 24" piece of mild steel, cut in half
washers for spacers
spray paint for brackets
fog lights

I think the pictures speak for themselves.

The only word of caution here is to wear gloves when forming the steel, and fiddling around inside the bumper as there are rough edges that may cut.

Basic comments:
One bracket was simply bent until it fit with the light on it, then the other was made the shape. It is a tight fit!!

I purposly left the brackets short so I could fine tune the height of the lights with washers as spacers.

I used KC HiLights, 5" round fogs, 100w, black chrome to blend in with the "black hole"

By removing the whole backside of the "black Hole" I was able to get about 1/8" gap between the light and the plastic.

Did I mention its a tight fit??!!!! The dang thing would only go in one way once assembled. But it doesn't move at all since tighted.

Put the plastic "black hole" back in and the well plastic back on once the lights are aimed.

Bob

Excellent write up RPAspey...

Maybe a mod can move this to the I Wonder or How do I........Tutorials.

We need to grow this area a bit more for all the great information to get out!

bracket pattern

I've just posted a copy of the bracket pattern I used to mount the fog lights. If you print it out on a 8.5x11 sheet of paper, it should be full size.

here is the link to the picture: http://www.toyotatundraforum.com/pho...334/ppuser/138

NICE! I'm sure the output of these lights is far superior to the stock units.

Looking for a set of black or smoked lights for my truck!

When I recieved the feedback questionaire I gave the dealership very high marks which they deserved. They went out of their way to try to get the lights from factory. But, I did let Toyota know the hassle they caused me because of their idiotic packages and lack there of for 8' beds. Its funny that I haven't had any replies yet from their customer service.

Anyway, thanks.
