Smile needing help with inop. power outlets

hello fellow tundra owners. this will be my first post since i purchased my tundra, thanks to everything being so informative. i'm a 2008 crew max sr5 owner. unfortunately i have ran into a problem which i can't find the answer to through the searches, it appears that the problem hasn't been written about or at least i haven't found it. here lies my problem: last night a buddy and i was out spot light hunting wild hogs. we didn't have any problems with the power outlets working for most the night. then when we switched one of the lights to the cig. lighter outlet i saw a spark and it burned a fuse. simply enough i fixed that. so i took the same light and plugged it into one of the power outlets then those quit working. i know this because my buddy's light stopped working when i plugged mine in. secondly we had been running the same two lights on the power outlets all night so i know that it should have worked. the light fuses were good. i checked what i thought would be the power outlet fuse and it was good. maybe i didn't check the right fuse. so maybe someone can tell me exactly which fuse is the correct one for the pwr outlets, and if it is in fact good what could be keeping my outlets from working. sorry that is is so long, but i wanted to be thorough to make it easier for someone to understand the issue of why it might not be working. thanks in advance for any and all help

chris

Welcome aboard. Sounds like a blast spot lighting hogs!! Can't help too much on the problem. Are you sure its not the lights messing stuff up?

Fuse

Mine did the same thing, I couldn't find the problem. I checked all of the fuses that I could find all seemed ok. When I took it in for service it was definitely a fuse.

Mine was caused by a bad cell phone charger.

If in fact all the fuses are good, there is a fusible link on the back of each of the power outlets and cig lighter. I would be betting on a fuse though. There is a fuse called power outlet under the dash. Also a fuse called cig under there. I would check both of those first. They are both the blue 15 amp fuses. Hope this helps.

yea i had checked the fuses that night, and the pwr outlet connector fuse was good. and all the light fuses were good as well. i did figure out the problem though and hope this can prove useful for someone in the future. when i was checking and switching the pwr outlet conn. fuses, i had kept the truck running. turns out i guess i tripped some circuit overload protector, which keeps you from actually blowing a fuse. had i known at the time all i had to do was turn the truck off and restart it which would have reset the circuit protector, i wouldn't have wasted all that time looking for fuses thinking i found the wrong one. as they say hindsight is 20/20, and now i will know if it happens again on any of my future hog hunts. like i said hopefully this will help someone out in the future. thanks for looking into my probelm.
