Alarm beep and flash

Over the weekend my alarm went wacky for an afternoon of running around. When I would arm the alarm, there would be no beep or light flash, but it would arm. Entry would give the two beeps and flashes as usual, but all day..... nothing while arming. Today it is back to working as it should. Maybe just the battery or something else?????

It could be many things but the first that comes to mind is the key sense switch in the ignition may be dirty and stuck on making the ECU think the key is still in the ignition. If the ECU thinks the key is in the ignition it will not lock/unlock Arm/Disarm with the FOB.

The next time you notice it, wait 30 seconds and look into the truck and see if the vehicle security light is flashing, if it is not then the truck is not armed. Here is the section of the owners manual that describes the alarm feature.

Wonder if maybe whatever beeps got shorted out or a loose connector?

Good suggestions on the ECU and maybe a loose connector. I didn't look to see if the vehicle security light stayed solid, but the doors definitely locked, just no beep or turn signal flash when arming/locking doors only.....all afternoon.

I'm going in for an inspection this week and I know what they'll say about not being able to duplicate. Funny thing is the week before my stereo went wacky like many others on this site..... nothing turned it off and no buttons worked and odd characters were displayed like &^%@.... we'll see what they say.

Sounds like a warranty problem if it persist.
