| HID kits are illegal now to use in reflector headlights because of the way the reflectors disperses light, and spreading it everywhere and possibly blinding on coming drivers, unlike the projectors where they can make a cut off and aim the light towards the ground and make it easier on the on coming drivers eye. Also you can purchase full hid kits off ebay, and or i heard v-leds got some really good hid kits for our trucks. H11 kits are everywhere

| So would this be a legal upgrade? Bi-Xenon HID Kit [Bi-Xenon] |
| ||||
| Slowpokee, no hid are legal on a reflector headlight anymore, but bi-xenon kit is the style that bmw's use for high and low beam, it's just one bulb for the low and high beam. I myself have an hid on my truck, and i get high beamed by on coming traffic all the time because it's so bright, it's illegal but we do it for the looks;-) here in albany LEO don't really care, if you do go hid, go with a 6000k or 8000k so it still offers you a great amount of usable light. |

Does the 6000K ~ 8000K look more blue than white? |
| ||||
| I purchased Burke Motorsport HID kits off sleazbay, and am very pleased with them. As I am running them through a projector headlamp, the light beam is more of a pencil / direction beam as opposed to a fan/flood formation. However, my hi beams and "anytime" fog lamps are a different story! |

| Its funny this thread is so recent. I just recieved a "slim kit" for $150.00 from these guys. I bought an identical kit for my motorcycle a few years ago. I went with the 5000K bulbs as they are most closest to white (4300K-4500K) which project out the most lumens. Sorry no 8000K purplish boy racer looks for me. I want superior lights for lighting and I think some things just look gay on a truck. I had 8000K on my an older bike and they didn't light up sheet and got old after awhile. Very true about the light spread with the stock light lens. But man, what an improvement in lighting over the stockers. These guy's shipped out fast. Great service. "Lighting your way in style.." Home Page . BTW 4300K is whitest. Everything else gets more blueish (5000k) to purplish (6000K-8000K) to pinkish (12000K) My C3 has Phillip 4300K and its very white. My Tundra while more white than the stock yellow does have hint of blue in it. Common on BMW, Lexus. Sorry, 8000K is downright purplish. (and hideous). |
