I looked at your previous project, That was unbelievable. That computer was sweet, I only wish I had the ability to do stuff like that.

Great post and thanks for sharing!
Thanks! I was thinking to use a computer in this build as well but couldn't figure out exactly what I need it for. My music storage this time is with an 80G iPod and that takes a lot less room than a computer.

I'm glad you found it easy reading. I always keep worklogs of my projects since it makes it easier to explain how I did something. But they have to be entertaining as well.

PS-Rage -excellent log man.. i'm planning to do alot of the same (minus the radios) and was even planning on going with the first head unit you pictured. After seeing the second one, i'll be switching that up the same.

Question; have you laid any dynamat? How is the tundra holding up to the two 10s? It feels like my doors would rattle off the hindges so i'm budgeting for a good amount of dynamat..

I definitely like the 2DIN unit a lot more than the single DIN one. The 2DIN is solid like a rock while the folding one would vibrate a good deal. It was really difficult to operate while in motion due both to it being up high and shaking around - rather frustrating.

No Dynamat installed yet but I do plan on doing the front doors and the back wall. The doors for sure really need it as they vibrate up a storm just with the factory speakers.

The subs are not installed yet and I still do not have the front speakers. Those components are supposed to be finally shipping at the end of this month. I'll be installing a set of Alpine SPX17-PRO (mid and tweet) and Alpine SPX-17MB (mid bass).

I'd like to have this entire project completed before the end of fall but as long as it is done by Christmas, I'll be happy. The only time I have to work on it right now is evenings since I go camping every weekend during the summer. So I'm not getting a whole lot done right now. Obviously I still need to drive it so can't really rip into it and then put it back in in an evening.
