Angry Lights, then truck died!!!! Suggestions? (sunday)

My friend just got a new 5.7 also and just put new 20"'s on. He hasn't leveled it or ANYTHING else. I told him that my CEL,VSC, TRAC, 4LO flashing lights came on 100 miles or so after the Toytec and new wheels and might need to get the VSC recalibrated. I just disconnected the neg and it has not happened yet, but i'm still planning on doing it.

Anyway he punched it from a stop sign and got up to speed (1/2 mi) and the CEL,VSC,TRAC,4LO flashing gig came on......then it just died! He called me and I kinda laughed, till he said it died! And just keeps cranking. So he didn't have a wrench, so I went down to disconnect. We let it sit for 3-5 min two times, but we were in the dark right off the road and didn't wait for a full 10 min+ for a reset. Well it happened 1/2 mi from his driveway, so I just towed him. He didn't want to deal with it late last night, me niether. So I didn't check battery, fuel fuses. I searched for a bit last night and didn't find anything simalar to this except for a guy who had water dumped in his tank (which didn't happen). Havent' talked to him this morning, just thought i would post. So anyone.....thoughts?....happened to you? It's sunday so you know what the dealer is going to say. If this is a safty feature, thats BS, what if you were in the fast lane! The oils better be boiling over before it shuts it's self down. BTW gauges were normal. Thanks.

Probably some kind of internal shutdown at the ecu -If the wheels were a different size, with the new ones, the wheels would be turning extremely slow compared to what it expected.

I think they are 32"s (stock), so not the size. And his wheel is only 1 # heavier than mine, but I have way more rubber (50 vs. 65 sieres) and mine didn't die, nor have I heard of this happening for wheels or lift. Regardless, that is the lamest reason to have a shut down if it's true. Talk about endangering lives.

I would think if the ECU was the problem, it shut down because something was about to, or had already broken for any number of reasons. Unfortunately, though, I think he's going to have to bring it in - just my opinion.

Maybe someone has had a similar problem that can help you further.

I've never heard of that happening. I would say leave it as it is and have it towed to the dealership. That way it will have the error codes in the computer when it gets there. It shut itself down for a reason. Let us know what the dealer says.

Thats the plan, just thought I would check online and make sure it wasn't somthing basic. Now I'm paranoid. I will definatly post the findings. Funny thing is I stopped him from buying a chevy with reliabilty reasons.....now he's not so sure.

Oh ya, and he was test driving and he said one he was going to drive was flashing 4lo and wouldn't start so they had to grab another one....he just told me that tid bit.

They said it was a loose pin on one of the connections to the/a coil, from the factory. Fixed.

Sorry, but I didn't talk with the dealer, but I'm assuming that one of the harness connections going to a coil was faulty?
