I have to get DRL working sooner then later, i have the recall letter coming and i have insurance til friday. So either i was going to do it with a relay or just do a quick fix like that but there isn't much info on the quick fix. If i have to do the relay option im going to have to gather all the parts and try and do it tomorrow.

Is this the only way to hook up DRL?

Quickest, easiest, cheapest?

Figured i could jump some wire to aux terminals as a quick fix but i guess not because the only thing i really found was this...

Heres how.
Open up your steering column and locate the plug on the bottom of your turn signal switch. Unplug it. you can use a DMM to locate which two terminals that open and close for your head lamps. For mine it was the terminals one and ...I think 7 one from last on the far right. In any event white and White with black stripe I placed a jumper on the plug side and made sure it all work turn signals etc. i am realying on the lamp time out function to shut them off or use my key faub. After my inspection I can pull off the jumper and go back to stalk.

Has anyone ever gotten a ticket for not having DRL? Or is it one of those 24 to get it things?

I have dont have them from the factory. If you disconnected them you should know how to hook them back up, right?

I never disconnected them, it was never hooked up so i have to do it to pass inspection.

I called Toyota and they said it can be done with just a Bosch Type Relay, thats how they always do it so im going to see if i can pull something out here.

If they are not factory intalled why do they make you intall them? My truck never came with DRL's so even if I get it inspected to sell here I dont need them. Sorry for the questions, but I'm just curious.

He probably lives in Canada and DRLs are required on all vehicles there.

Thats the answer I was looking for. I would think that when you buy the truck from the dealer this would be taken care of.

Most likely bought in the US and imported to Canada.
