ok so i just bought my 05 limited tundra and the previous owner told me there is a mod chip in it. its taking away my gas mileage and giving me more horsepower. right now..i would much rather have the gas mileage! first of all. i cant find where it is located. i'm not stupid. i used to be a mechanic, but i dont know where the computers are in the newer tundras. they arent where i thought they were. so i'm not sure exactly what kind of chip is in there. and secondly, when i do find it, am i going to be able to take it out or am i going to have to buy a new ecm?? please help!

Some of the programmers require you to pull the ECM and send it to them to be reprogrammed. There is a chance that yours is one of those. Any way to contact the previous owner and ask him what brand chip they put in? Maybe that will help with whether it's an ECM reprogram or a plug in mod.
