CAI or filter change?

Okay, Tox helped me out on the right price for the Volant CAI, but looking at the tundra set-up now, it seems that it has cold air from the wheel well but has a regular paper filter, would a K&N repacement filter be as good or is the whole design of the box from Volant or other really going to make that much of a difference?

Volant doesn't use a paper filter. They use a Donaldson filter which is far superior to a K&N or any other filter available. It's the same filter the Army uses in Iraq. If they used a K&N in Iraq, you could kiss those engines goodbye. Here's some good reading on the filter posted by Squid:
