Flowmaster 50- what to expect?

Ok folks, I just had my flowmaster 50 dual in/dual out installed with my Volant CAI. I love the sound although I am sure the police will notice my truck more so I better leave the beers at home and not between my legs, lol.

I have read on other posts about it taking awhile for the truck to "learn" the new add ons. I am not sure what this means. Does the computer make adjustments for the new airflows and does it take awhile to make these adjustments?

My first thought is that the truck isn't as crisp on the throttle as before. I can't quantify this statement but will throttle response change with time?

Sorry for the lighting on this one.

The computer will adjust according to the new air inflow and exhaust outflow. It usually takes a tank of gas (around 300 miles). The truck may feel different as it "learns" the mods.

I put the same Flowmaster on my 08 Crewmax and dumped it right in front of the axle. Could'nt ask for a better sound.

I sent the "FordSux" pics to a friend who also happens to be a salesman for Ford. I am not sure he saw the humour in it, lol.

I fully expected my girlfriend to hate my new rumble but to my surprise she likes it. They never cease to amaze me.

Thanks for the info Tox.

I did these after the Flowmaster 50 SUV and before the Volant. Did this kinda spur of the moment. I plan to do the same sometime in the future with the Volant to show the difference. The exhaust became a little louder with the Volant installed. The Volant is louder in the cab than the Flowmaster at WOT.

This is a rolling start, traction on, windows up:

This is getting onto the interstate on ramp:

This driving over rolling hills with the windows down. As you can see, fairly quiet at cruising speeds:

And this is driving on flat road with the windows down.

Oh, and for those who might wonder how my exhaust is run, I had it dumped in front of the rear axle.

that sounds good, just not loud enough have you heard any exhaust with the back cats off.

Hello all,

Nice job going with the Flowmasters! I went with the full cat-back system from Flowmaster, the muffler in this kit was specially designed for the 5.7L Tundra. It has a good exterior sound with no annoying interior resonation.
