Super-Hybrid SUVs

You might have seen Jonathan Goodwin on Pimp My Ride where he built a 850HP Impala that beat a Lamborghini in the 1/4 mile.
He is getting a lot of attention right now for his innovative super-hybrid SUV creations.

Why the big 3 have not been able to do this is mind boggling.

Here are some interesting videos on Jonathan and some of his recent projects.

Here is an article on him from the November 2007 issue of Fast Company.

Double the fuel efficiency... so instead of 9 mpg, they get 18 mpg?

That guy is pretty smart and I hope his designs become mainstream. Well, except the E85 use, I hope E85 dies off soon.

Yeah, I found the article "Motorhead Messiah" very interesting, where he lays out his three step plan:

Quote:
Goodwin admits all these things are true but believes the country could be weaned off gasoline in a three-step process. The first would be for Detroit to aggressively roll out diesel engines...

The second step in Goodwin's scheme would be to produce diesel-electric hybrid cars. This would double the mileage on even the biggest diesel vehicles.

The third phase would be to produce electric hybrids that run in "dual fuel" mode, burning biodiesel along with hydrogen, ethanol, natural gas, or propane. This is the concept Goodwin is proving out in his turbine-enhanced H3 Hummer and in Neil Young's Lincoln:

My Brother-in-Law is the Brother of the guy who drove that impala at the track. He's the President of PPE and they supplied the technology for that beast and here's some pics of them with the Impala and Joe running it.

His Bro bought a 07 GMC 2500HD Duramax and as you can guess his bro gave him everything and he takes great pleasure is smoking vettes and just about anything else. I've ridden with him here is PA and we'll be together this holiday from Fri-Sun and have some plans for a few hours of fun. It's SOOOO much fun in a straight line. Good thing my best friend is a Corporal with the PA State Police, might need him this weekend Here's what the DURAMAX is capable of. Total sleeper.
